Hey everyone,

not sure if this is the right forum to be posting in, but I'm looking for a complete screen replacement for my Palm IIIxe... anyone have a broken IIIx, IIIe, IIIxe, TROpro, VII or VIIx handy? =)

Thanks!

you could check out gethightec (http://********hightech.com/generic.html?pid=19), however buying a new screen there costs $60.
another option is looking around in ebay for broken 2nd hand palms.
Wish you luck;)

Yeah, I've looked at gethightech.com... unfortunately, like you said, their complete screens cost $60... or about the cost of a complete Palm anyway. =) [I got a Visor for $100...]

But just for the hell of it, I went ahead and bought a broken Palm for $30... if the LCD doesn't work, hopefully I can salvage the digitizer, at the very least.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Have a look at

They sell 8M IIIe for less than USD 50

and I bought my 2M IIIe for CAD32 tax included and I am very happy

NKG,
It's really not too difficult to replace a Palm screen. The screen is made up of two parts. The digitizer (top glass) and the LCD panel (bottom display) Many times only the digitizer is cracked and needs to be replaced. Replacing the whole screen at once is a little easier but either procedure is fairly straightforward. Step by step illustrated repair instructions, and parts, can be found at gethightech.com eBay is also a good place to look for Palm III parts.
