Howdy all!

My m100 with 8MEG upgrade is bitting the dust, every time I replace the batteries it does a hard reset. I bought a m105 replacement for 99 Euros, but I am wondering if I should have spent the extra cash for the m130 (on sale for 249 Euros). Can anyone tell me if the screen is plastic like the m100/105? One problem I had with my m100 is the screen (particularly the graffiti area) scratched up pretty bad over the last two years of heavy usage. I had a friend who bought a m515 and wasn't too thrilled with the color, he had to leave the backlight on a lot to see well. Is the m130 the same?

Thanks for any and all comments!

Cheers!

The 130 screen is not the plastic you had problems with. Color and intensity are good on the 130. My preference is for the 505 if the price is similar.

There is not much you can do about scratches except use a screen protector. Doesn't matter whether the screen is glass or plastic because the surface (digitizer) is plastic.

I would get the m505 too. The shape of the unit is nicer to me. It fully displays 65000 colors. The m130 barely displays "58000" colors through dithering. Digital pictures won't look as good. (I use my PDA for pictures.) The m130 is brighter, though. Just about all color PDAs need backlighting to be usable.

Thanks for the quick replies. The m505 is not really an option, it is about another 140 Euros on top of the m130, and like I said I had a bud who had a m505 and wasn't that pleased with it. Realistically, if I wanted a computer-quality screen, I think something other than a Palm would be required. I like the Palm, and have a lot of freeware games downloaded for it; therefore I am kinda stuck with Palm OS products. That, plus it is mostly for personal stuff, so I can't write it off as a business expense. I also can take a PDA with any wireless capabilities into my work area  , due to security constraints.

Cheers!

If you want a low cost color PalmOS PDA, look for a Visor Prism. I like mine. The color is bright and vibrant. See also Sony 760 and T-615.

Though discontinued, all are still available.
