Sync via Infrared to WinXPhome

Hi all

i've got the following problem: Everytime i try to sync my IPAQ 3870 with my notebook (winXP home/Outlook 2k), my system freezes!

When I sync via the USB-Cradle it works just fine. I just dont like the idea of carrying my cradle from work to home and back all the time.

anyone any idea what the problem might be?

PS: has anyone got experience in syncing via Bluetooth to Notebook and/or ericsson T39m?

I got myself a usb cable that I connect my 3970 to my laptop to whilst traveling.

That way I sync and charge.

Cable is avalable for a few bucks.

I keep the same cable at work for syncing and charging directly from the USB port. The only problem I've come up against is that my Laptop doesn't like the iPAQ charging from its USB port.

I can sync and charge my 3955 with my laptop if I use the cradle & adapter, but the laptop starts spitting out messages that the USB is being overloaded because the attached device is drawing too much power when I use that cable with it. This is probably a weakness in the USB port chipset on my Toshiba Satellite, but I'm sure it's not the only laptop that can't deal.
