I use a Netbook and have occasional problems with Opera in that it runs out of memory and the programme closes down.
I now have Opera closing down when loading a particularly large web page, but whenever I try to open it again, I have a "corrupt" message displayed and Opera will not load.
I have tried using CheckDisk and Optimise to no avail. The logical answer seems to be to use back-up, hard re-set, reinstall the OS, then to restore back-up. I have never done a reinstall and have some anxieties about data and setting retention in using this option.
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I might try short of this ??

Unless I missed something, whats stopping you from Removing (Uninstalling) and then reinstalling Opera?

You might also like to try deleting the C:\System\Apps\Opera5\Opera.ini or whatever the file is called.

I'd try deleting the .ini file first as Chris suggests; if this doesn't help then try emptying the cache folder at C:\System\Apps\Opera\Cache4\

Once you have this problem sorted out, to make things easier in the future I would highly recommend acquiring the extra 32MB memory module for your netBook if you can - I'm assuming that you don't already have it installed?

I frequently suffered the frustrations of Opera crashing due to lack of memory before performing the upgrade - it's really well worth it! :)
