Does anyone know if it's possible to use the 56K Psion IR travel modem with a 3c/3mx? I've been building up my 3 series kit from ebay lately (all those things I couldn't afford when new, such as larger SSDs and software), and this would be the last part of the system (well I'd rather connect through a Nokia mobile phone, but I don't suppose that's feasible!).
TIA.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the 56K Psion IR travel modem with a 3c/3mx? Unfortunately not. The implementation of IR in the Series 3mx only supports file transfers between compatible machines - 3c, 3mx and Siena - and printing to IR enabled printers.I'd rather connect through a Nokia mobile phone, but I don't suppose that's feasible! It's a lot more feasible than trying to use the IR Travel Modem, but you will obviously have to use a cable connection. I have run PsiMail Internet over a GPRS connection with my Nokia phone using Orange and there are details on how to set this up on the "Series 3" page of my website. The settings would have to be amended as necessary for other networks.

Cheers Mike, I'll take a look. Otherwise it's bidding on that travel modem (14.4 model.).
