This may sound like an odd idea but I want to synchronize my 5mx with my company's GroupWise calender. The problem is that my company will not allow the synchronization software to be loaded on my PC because it only supports Palm not Psion - the answer to my request was "...buy a Palm..."!

Is it feasible/possible that we may be able to use the Web access route?

Which "web access route" are you referring to?

Groupwise web access? (you will probably need Opera on the Psion to access that - since they probably have it behind a secure connection).

Or web access to the Psion Agenda? (http://www.revoworld.com/dbShownews.asp?ID=690)

How adamant are they about not supporting the Psion? Do they support Intellisync for the Palm?

If they do, you might be able to talk them into letting you use Intellisync - since it also supports Psion/Groupwise syncronization.

My few thoughts (I was blessed enough to have a manager that actually payed for the Groupwise plug-ins for PsiWin!!)

As an IT manager I roll my eyes whenever I read anything like this. Yes, the company has every right to protect their assets from inappropriate software, but if they are willing to install Hotsync and Intellisync or Toffa, I just do not understand why they will not try PsiWin or Activesync if the user requires it.

We allow it with we installing the software and testing it. If the software causes problems with other software that the user needs on their PC (fairly unlikely with PDA synchronizing software), we just remove the software. If the software still leaves issues, then we rebuild the drive from standard images. At least at this point we will know if the software will cause problems.

Anyway, sorry that I cannot answer your question. Does anybody know if Agenda supports the vcalendar standard? I know that Contacts supports the vCard standard. Anyway, if Agenda does support vCalendar, you could try exporting your Groupwise calendar as vCal files (if your Groupwise version can do this) and then copying these to a Compact Flash card; from the Flash card, import into Agenda. Just a thought; again, I am not sure if this would work.
