Electric Statis Discharge ESD Problems

I have owned Palm 500/515 machines for a few years and have had reoccuring troubles with ESD (Electric statis discharge), causing the handhelds to fail at hotsynching though USB connection.

Does anyone know if this has been a problem with CLIE machines?

None of the Clie models have had the problem with ESD. I believe the problem that Palm had was due to the design of the cradle.
