Thanks for the help Answerdude (my last post)

I seem to be going round in smaller circles...

How do you send email from your PDA (using an existing email account - eg: my.name@virgin.net) to other email addresses ie not a @virgin.net account???

I have an iPAQ3970 with bluetooth and a Nokia 3610i phone - also with bluetooth.

I have sucessfully managed to get them to talk to each other and can access the net via a GPRS connetion. So far so good.

I have figured out how to download my email messages from the my.name@virgin.net account and send to that account ... but as for sending mail (as if it were from my.name@virgin.net) beyond to say my.friend@anyhost.com - I'm stumped!

Anyone with any ideas?

Check your outgoing mail server setting, it's usually different from the incoming server. You may also want to check with the isp that provides your mail server, sometime you need to log in to the internet with that particular isp to be able to send mail, isp's usually do this to prevent spammers from sending mass mails.
