So I've got it all on my new TT (over from my Vx) and I'm happy with the transition for the most part. I do have a couple of questions / comments:

1. why does the device not sit squarely in the cradle like the Vx. My guess is that the cheap cover provided was predetermined to be inadequate and Palm designed the cradle and unit around 3rd party covers??? note: I also miss the storage slot for an extra stylus in the Vx cradle, that was a brilliant design!

2. After loading everything on and transferring most (but not yet all) my critical data, I only have 5M of free space. This is before any new games or music. With the TT it is obvious I'll need to manage apps, etc. through the card memory sticks (I'll start to research this).

3. I love the color (I've lived a long time w/o that) but everything just seems a bit less stable, maybe its just a matter of getting us to it. Are the fixes out there something needed to be installed immediately or are they just for specific user situations?

I probably should have acted sooner - maybe the T2 in '05!

1. Me too! I was wondering why when I've got mine. After a while, you won't see the difference...

One of the strongest features on TT is its dimensions so, it's normal that it has just one stylus slot.

2. 16 mb is not enough. You need to buy a SD Card if you want to stock mp3, photos, videos, more applications, etc...Lexar and Panasonic are recommended. Avoid Sandisk. Try to buy at least 128 mb; if you can, go for a 256 mb

3. Mine is very stable. No problem with the screen. No patch about this but you have to install another patch for sound and digitalizer. Take a look at palm.com...

Happy palming!

I think when harvy was talking about stylus slots, he was talking about the "bank-pen"-type hole that used to be in the Vx's cradle that you could place a stylus in. That was a neat little feature. The Vx also did have a slot on the opposing side of the unit to the stylus, but if I recall it was too narrow to put a stylus in and was commonly used as a support structure for external cases/wallets....

yea, that's it on the stylus slot, it's in the cradle, convenient just to look up phone #'s. appts, etc w/o removing it from the cradle. The slot on the side of the palm was for the cover (similiar to what I saw on the TC).

After today I'm ready to throw out that plastic cover that came w/ the TT. I can't believe anyone uses that thing.

If you don't want your plastic covers I'd be glad to take them off your hands :)

I am using the plastic cover and mine is all scratched up. I even used Meguiar's PlastX to remove some of the minor ones, but the big scratches don't come off.

The very nice person at the local London Drugs opened up the package for the Palm hard case to let me look at it. I didn't like the case because it does not flip back out of the way. I wouldn't mind it so much if opened the other way. Since i'm left handed it gets in the way.
