James,
I am disappointed in the new interface and the fact you let no one know what you were doing in advance. The information that was there is lost. Please understand that from my point of view the system was working and didn't need to upgraded. If upgrade was needed, the old forum data should have been imported over. I liked the fact that I could get information on my specific PDA and information and help was readily available was outstanding. It was very easy find information that I was looking for. Now it may take months of time and effort to get back to the level partication on this forum. Lastly, why should spend my time in posting to a forum that may disappear tomorrow without warning?!? I looking forward to your answer.

I also found that the old format was easier to navigate. It was easier to browse the "knowlege data base" so answer were easier to find without having to post.

I totally agree that this new format SUZ. But the problem is that there is no othre decent alternative for this kind of information.
Why do we humans always to want fix what aint broken??
I was much happier with the prior format. Because of the outline format, it was possible to easily see what threads were running, which ones had new posts by whom, and to who each person was replying. I could zero in on the information I wanted immediately. In this format, it may be more graphic, but it is much harder to negotiate or even to see what's been posted where, without wandering around a lot. I also agree that a lot of valuable inforamtion from previous posts is now apparently lost.
The new foramt is intended to encourage cross-platform or cross-device browsing; I quote from the message sent to previous subscribers: "And we hope the changes
will pull in users from accross the various handheld plaforms in such a way
that a wider more varied audience develops, resulting in better and more
complete answers for everyone." This is the antithesis of a well organized site dealing with multiple devices - what we want is the ability to find the information specific to our individual issues, which we have in common with other users of similar devices and/or software products, not waste time wandering around looking at issues not relevant to each of us.
It's shiny, but dumbed-down.
Additionally, I was much happier when there were separate forums for the different CLIE devices. Someone who has an issue with an N-series isn't interested in wading through dozens of poorly organized posts specific to other CLIEs.
To sum up: in the previous format, information was well organized, and easy to find; in this format, everything is mixed in together and it is much harder to zero in on what you want, or even to help others with a specific issue.
I will not be visiting this poorly organized site nearly as frequently as I visited the old one.

Agree with all the above. The old one was much quicker to browse and organized much more intuitively. More importantly...IT WASN"T BROKEN !!!
I have seen this happen many times in my workplace too. A new administrator or boss comes in and wants to put his stamp on something as his "legacy" and changes something just for the sake of change.
I won't be here as much as I used to.

How about resubdividing the models. I aggree, it was nice to find specific information on the NR series. As the site grows it will become a daunting task to find this kind of specialized information. I hope someone is listening...
By the way, I must thank all of you who have offered invaluable help in the past, I was able to find some great sofware and hardware to complement my NR70. Perhaps one day I could also contribute, but I am still in the infancy stage with this first PDA.:)
