I have a problem with the 'Find feature' on the Tungsten C, which causes it to crash. It happens like this:

Address book:
Function key + Find (CAP key).
Text entered. <OK>
Matches for 'text' displayed.
<Find more> is tapped.
A Fatal exception error is displayed and has to be Reset.

It only happens with Addresses and not with the other functions.

Has anybody else come across this problem? Any solution ?

Thanks,
Guy

Hi Guy
Yes, I have experienced the same phenomenon: not only with addresses, but in general when I do a "find", but sometimes it doesn't crash, other times it does and only a reset can help. There's a freeware called "FindTester" www.flashplug.de that you may run and it's supposed to tell you which app has caused the crash, in my case Diddlebug. I somehow suspect that it is a TC bug.
I don't take any action, just hope that my new TC won't crash so often. Otherwise I am very pleased with it so far.

Hi Marianne,

Thank you very much for your mail. I've found out what was wrong with my Tungsten C. I've loaded a few Shareware programs to test them, and one of them didn't handle the Find event correctly.

The last line, (before the program falls over) in the Find dialog showed the culprit shareware program. I have now uninstalled it and it's working fine again.

Cheers,
Guy
