Initial Sync problem

Just got a N710c and am having trouble with the initial sync on my VAIO running XP. I downloaded the 4.01 update and am wondering where I went wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you loaded the Desktop to your SONY PC running XP did you have "administrative rights?"

thanks, but that wasn't the problem. i went back and reread the intructions and realized i'd forgoten the crucial "custom" option on install. Am happily learning the ins & outs of CLIE operation.

YOU did good! THe XP problems can be a real long job to diagnose and correct. I had to leave when I was typing my last post to you. Good thing I left, I was going to walk you through the reinstall.
