Does anyone if a CF card adapter exists, or is in development for palms. I dont know why I want it, I have 256meg's in one SD card, and sandisk is comign out with a sd wifi card, and I have bluetooth, it would be still nice to have, then i could have tonns of expansion.

You might check the Guyver out. It has a PCMCIA slot, but will accept a CF adapter. I don't know if CF memory cards will work with it. However, several communication cards are compatable. If you use a wireless card on the Guyver, you could still use an SD memory card at the same time.

I don't know of a source for the item, but have read that it will/does retail for about $170 US.

To me it's an expensive solution, so unless you have a special use for it, other than memory expansion, I would avoid the expense and weight.

that is a lot of money. and seeing is that sandisk is coming out with a wifi card (802.11b) in a sd format for palm os in the fall, and a combination 256mg sd card, 802.11b wifi card iin the 3rd quarter, who needs it.

just to remake the point (that has been made numerous times on this site), WiFi may have serious implications for battery life on tyhe T|T. The Guyver has a built-in power supply...As someone onec said, be careful, you may get what you wish for!!

We'll probably get reduced range in exchange for battery life or something :)

I remember my old Handheld PC (NEC MobilePro 400) running Windows CE 1.0 couldn't handle 5 volt PC Cards without a fresh set of batteries. I could use my modem, but only for 5 minutes until the batteries died. I always had to plug it in to use the modem :| I never got around to getting a low power modem that used 3.3V :P

The manufacturer, RV Technology Limited, has an office in Hong Kong. I had the unique opportunity of visiting their office and seeing the Guyver. Even though it has a PC Card slot and has its own rechargeable battery built in, the adapter is still smaller than the CF expansion pack for the iPAQ. It is thin, lightweight, and has a metal casing on the backside. I have some contact information if you would like to contact them for more info:

I wonder what would happen if you bought the pc card sled and put in a bluetooth pc card adapter :)

hehe, would it find itself?

You could probably use the SD Bluetooth card if you had the proper size converter. However, the TT already has BT built in. But users of other Palm devices sure would love that feature.
