I have a Palm Backup card and have done some backups on my TC. Now suddenly the Backup card reports a failure at the very end of the backup process. I restart the process, same thing. I have installed the latest version of DocsToGo and that has installed some files on the TC,too. I have always thought it a good idea not only to backup on the pc, but also locally so to speak. What can I do? I cannot reformat this card, or rename it. Any ideas would be welcome.

Might you have just gone over 16MB (or 14.xMB formatted) worth of files? The Palm Backup card was originally intended to backup 16MB or smaller units. The TC has 64MB (well 51MB available). Either way, it can hold much more data than can be backed up to the Palm Backup card. For now you would have to get at least a 64MB SD or MMC card and use a third party backup solution. Hope that helps.

Yes, that's it. It somehow dawned upon me that I might have too many bits and bytes on my TC for the mere 16MB, the update of DocsToGo must have added files and so I deleted some ebooks and lo and behold, the backup was successful. But like you say that has to addressed differently with the 51 megs available.
Thank you for your feedback.

Check to make sure the back up card is not locked. There is a small white tab on the front side part of the card If it is on lock mode you will receive an error message. The capacity may also be a problem

Actually, I managed to solve the problem - see previous post-, there were too many apps on my TC, but I do need to get a larger card.
Thanks anyway.
