Not sure what you mean. CE is an OS for handheld devices and will not run on a PC. Are you referring to activesync, the program that sync data between the handheld and a PC?

I have a Nino 300 which has been in the drawer for about 3 years. I plugged it in just to see if it would work and to my surprise it appears to work fine including the battery and the default install. I would like to sync with my PC, but I am having some trouble. I now have windows 2000 with service pack 3. The version of CE I have is 2.1. It still works fine on my old notebbook ehich still runs 98SE. I want to sync with my new desktop whick runs 2000. IWhat I think I am reading on various sites is that it takes CE 3.0, but I may reall mean active SYNC. I dont see any advantage to buying a new PPC when the NINO will do the job. Any help would be appreciated.

This use to be confusing (still is I guess) Windows CE is the core operating system of POcketPC's. WIndows CE services was the synchronization software.
The versions that came the Nino's was WinCE services.
MS now calls the sync software Activesync. click here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=67e9e87c-ca96-48b4-b5d4-f3e047ca5108&displaylang=en) for the latest version of AS.
I would uninstall any old versions of WInCE services first.
Also unhook your Nino from the PC before downloading, then just follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know if it works out.
