My series 5mx sadly fell prey to the notorious screen cable problem and I am looking at replacing it. I have a couple of questions about the revo/diamond mako, the answers to which I have not been able to nail down for certain from specifications posted on the web:

1) Is it possible to use the PC card modem adapter I was using with the 5mx, or would I have to buy an IR modem? If it is useable, is there a port on the unit itself or is it in the docking station?

2) Does the AC adapter go into the unit itself or only through the docking station?

1) Is it possible to use the PC card modem adapter I was using with the 5mx, or would I have to buy an IR modem? If it is useable, is there a port on the unit itself or is it in the docking station? No, the PC Card Adapter cannot be used with a Revo because it doesn't have the 'Honda' type RS232 serial port which the 5mx has. The Revo cannot use a PsiWin serial cable, it only connects via the "docking cradle" with contacts which slot into the base of the Revo

2) Does the AC adapter go into the unit itself or only through the docking station? It can either be plugged into the Revo or into the 9-pin serial connector which connects to the PC from the docking cradle.

would I have to buy an IR modem? If portability isn't important, you can use an external PC modem:

Revo > Docking cradle > Null Modem Adapter > Modem
