I just picked up a TT and it came with a nice cradle with built in charger. If I leave my TT in the cradle all day when I'm not away from my desk it will always be carging, even if it doesn't need it.

I have a cell phone that I did that to and fried my battery (I found out after-the-fact that's how I fried it). A cell phone battery is a little easier and cheaper to replace... SO, my question...

Is it bad to keep the power cord plugged into the cradle all the time or should I just plug it in when I need it. Also, should I try and let the battery drain down before I recharge it? (but I don't want to be caught with no power).

Any suggestions / thoughts on proper charging habits so that I don't kill my battery?

Thanks,

-Mike

yea, I have the same question (got my Tungsten T a few days ago). I've just been letting in charge same as I did with my Vx. Haven't noticed any problems thus far ....

I don't see why it would be bad. Plus most modern cell phones *should* stop charging when it's full. (Read: almost anything that charges a battery these days)

If you don't charge your T regularly you're probably going to run out of battery sooner or later anyway - especially when you just want to use it.

The charge circuit will cut power to the battery when it is full.

Also the Lithium battery technology means no memory effect so there's no problem with charging a half-full battery.

My old Vx was on charge 9-5, 5 days a week and battery life was exactly the same after 3 years. Had the TT 6 months and so far the same is true.

Chill!
