i got an Ipaq 3970, i have messed up with a software , i decided to format it, as a brand new , any idea how ?

The best way to recover is to perform a hard reset (hold the outer two buttons down and use the stylus to press the reset -- what sadist thought of that? -- and use the power plug to restart the device. This will leave you with a device exactly as it came from the box.
