palm desktop frozen?

am using cliepd401.exe desktop.
it crashed and will not start again.
i get error: cannot find memo pad database

i think the configuration for memopad files (mpa) were converted to movie files.

anyone run into this? help?

i uninstalled, reinstalled and still have the same problem

Before anything Close PalmDesktop (if it open).

1. Plase find that which path (Folder) that you install PalmDesktop.
(Like C:\Palm or "C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld" )

2. Use "My Computer" to open that folder

3. You will see some folder that like your HotsyncName.
(If your hotsync name= "abcdefg" ... then that folder is "abcdef")
(If your hotsync name= "abcdefgh ijklmnop" ... then that folder is "ijklmna" )

4. Double Click that folder to goto inside that folder.

5. You can see folder "Datebook", "Address", "Todo" , "Memopad"

6. Go inside Memopad Folder

7. find for memopad.dat ( may be right click to see "properties")

8. Right Click to "Rename" that memopad.dat to memopadold.dat

9. Close My Computer

10. Try to open PalmDesktop again
