Maybe someone out there can give me some advice on how to take Psiwin my current version of Psiwin off my machine (Windows 2000) so that I can download and open the Psiwin 2.3.3. I've downloaded it and tried to install it but it keeps telling me that I have a currently installed version (or components of the currently installed version) that needs to be deleted.
So I go to the controll panel to add/remove programs and Psiwin does not appear as a program (why I don't know). All that appears is Psiwin CD installer.
Any ideas as to how to solve this problem so I can synch. my netbook are appreciated.
Thanks

Run the attached PsiWin "Registry Cleaner", to remove all remaining registry entries from the previous installation, then install 2.3.3

Dear Mike,
Thanks for responding. I clicked on the psiwin registry clean (it contains two files-new clean info and regcleaner.txt).
I'm still having a problem. The regcleaner.txt. said to put the newclean.inf on my desk top, right click, and install, then restart the computer.
I did exactly that-when I restarted the PsionSynchonizer and Psion backup folders still appear as shortcuts on the desktop. Yet, being the novice that I am with these things I then tried to install PsiWin 2.3.3.
Then I got a message "Setup has detected a previous installation on your machine. Some of the application files are still in use. You must remove it (via the add/remove Programs icon in the control panel before installing PsiWin.
May there is anothe file in the psiwin registry clean that is a zip file? I'm perplexed. Is there another place to find the psiwin registry clean?
I'm perplexed. Any help to give me an "ah-ha" and get this old psiwin program and its various components off of my computer is welcome.
Thanking you for your help in advance.
Andrew

I'm still having a problem. The regcleaner.txt. said to put the newclean.inf on my desk top, right click, and install, then restart the computer The registry cleaner only consists of the one file - Newclean.inf - which you can actually put anywhere, right click it and select 'Install'. You will see absolutely nothing happen but when you reboot, all existing PsiWin entries will be removed from the registry.
If your previous version of PsiWin has been removed properly with "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel, there shouldn't be any remaining PsiWin files. However, look at C:\Program Files\Psion\PsiWin\ and if there are still files in the Psiwin folder, delete them manually.
Also delete the shortcuts you mention and the folders they navigate to - in other words, delete anything you can find that contains the names Psion, PsiWin or EPOC!
Then try installing 2.3.3 again.
