I have the above H/PC which I upgraded to Win CE 3.0 and have a 64MB Flashcard installed.
I've been trying to use it productively around the house on my wireless network with a COMPAQ wireless WL110 11 Mbps card installed.
I'm having problems with linking to my ISP via my proxy server to pick up emails directly but even the WWW access is very slow. Should I be cutting my losses and buying a new handheld or palmtop or is the HP 620LX still a viable machine? It's still OK as a standalone MS Office hardware platform.

How much faster are the latest H/PCs than the HP620LX?

Thanks in anticipation.

I have found the HP620LX to be a very sound functional unit. I was wondering if there is a Picture Viewer Availablle to view digital pictures jpg tif etc etc

You had mentioned that you upgraded to CE 3.0 - would you be able to direct me to where I may find this upgrade available?

Thank you,

It's a hardware upgrade sold by HP some years ago. I don't know if it's still available. You will have to contact a dealer.

The version of IE on the new firmware has an image viewer.

I believe you can get a copy of ACDsee (an excellent image viewer) for your 620 on http://pda.tucows.com/windowsce.html

As for the viablility of the 620, my 320LX (with the CE2.0 upgrade) is to this very day the most useful device on my network. (with some clever php scripts on an internal webserver, basic administration can be done wirelessly)
