I just noticed that enternet explorer won't load any web pages other than Avantgo. If i type in an adress it don't do anything, it just stays at the current page. It does this when in the cradle and when using a CF modem. What's wrong?

I am having the same problem. These are the tests that I have run into. www.hoboshideaway.com/ipaq.html .

My brother in law had the same thing and he returned his ipaq.

Can you access an ftp site, say like ftp://ftp.cdrom.com? If so I ran into this problem also. I ended up doing a hard reset to make sure I wasn't loosing my mind. I was able to access internet pages again. I then proceeded to reinstall my apps one by one. The offending app ended up being PocketDivx, I tried to uninstall it and still had the problem. I hard reset my iPAQ again and install all my apps except that one again and still was able to surf the internet. My suggestion if you do not have PocketDivx installed would be to hard reset and make sure it will access the internet, then one by one reinstall your apps and testing the internet after each one. Pretty standard trouble shooting proceeded.

Yeh, I have done it all. hard resets with the latest rom and no applications except the driver then I did the sam thing using the 1.15 rom version and still the same thing. I have done so many hard resets that my fingers naturally want to go into a three finger solute.

I am still abel to browse using a third party browser but not PIE.

I have arranged to return the whole package.

I too have been having the same problem. I can connect to the internet via wireless ethernet or sync cradle. MSN messenger works, ftp works, and I can get the html of a page using VxUtil. But internet explorer wont load pages. The globe just flashes in the upper right corner of the screen and disappears again. I am using a toshiba e740 and if the same thing is happening with ipaqs, it is probably a software issue? Has anybody found anything the microsoft website about this?

Ok, this is a long shot, because it might be completely different problem, but there are 2 hidden files in the root directory of the iPAQ that, if deleted, will prevent Pocket IE from working. To restore them run Welcome.exe in the \Windows directory.

AnswerDude, Thanks! I think that was it. I remember deleting those files thinking they were not important.
