I'm a noob.
Just got Sony TG50. Love. Love it. Love it.
But.... it uses memory stick which is a hassle when my other stuff is SD or CF.
So... is Tungsten C really much much better? I know the processor is faster but TG50 is plenty zippy for me.
Is wi-fi really a Great Leap Forward? I like bluetooth on TG50.
It is a dilema for me. The TG50 is really a fine piece of technology, but for a 100 or so more I would spring for Tungsten C if wi-fi is truly worth it.

Almost the same for me! I'm selling my NZ90 for a tungsten C. (email for interest!) The NZ90 is just too big & has too little memory for my medical memory hogging apps. Otherwise it is awesome! Is faster better - Yes! As more software challenges our machines more speed is needed to run them. Web browsing with WiFi is an example. My Sony is fine but the C will be speedier I'm sure!:D

The only thing holding me back on the purchase of a Tungsten C is the mono sound and the non-standard size headphone jack. I don't listen to music all the time. However, it is a feature which would be nice to have. I would love to have a handheld with built-in wi-fi and have the extra built in ram and the fast processor. However, I don't know if I could get along without stereo sound.

After carrying my Sony for 1month I realized I rarely used the camera - and then mostly for the wow factor. Although I had 128MB of audio it killed my battery so fast I couldn't rely on it for my medical apps. Instead I went for an Archos AV320 which is amazing. It has a 3.3 megapixel camera attachment & blows away any PDA for audio/video. http://www.archos.com/. Although I'm doubling my gadgets I won't always have both & when I carry 1 or the other each will suit my needs best. Good luck deciding - you can't really go wrong with any of them.

I don't understand your comment re: lack of memory. Your data should reside on a memory stick and I doubt that you are using 128mb w/ your app.

I have about 100MB on my stick - plenty of room. Mostly these are large medical text files (about 15) Unfortunately, most apps require some internal memory for book readers etc which cannot reside on a memory card. At the same time I keep eWallet & Agendus Pro on the internal memory so I don't loose it when I put in a memory stick with MP3 or graphics (maps etc). Mapopolis must run from the internal mmory as well as the maps (although they are easy to transfer back & forth from the stick). Finally the Clie web browser must reside in internal mmory & it takes a whopping 2MB!
Start with only 11MB free, take off 2MB for browsing, 1MB for misc system files (Math lib etc etc) and 5MB for memory resident programs (Pepid, skyscape, HandHeld med, etc) & I only have 2-3MB left for maps, graphics, and other memory resident software I don't want to loose every time I remove the card.
The Las Vegas map itself is 2.5MB not counting the trip maps! For me I just run too many memory intensive medical apps to let me have enough internal ram. I can run what I want but it means transfering things back & forth which is time consuming. Most medical apps I need urgent access too so...the Tungsten C.
Believe me I tried, I love the NZ90!
