Thanks so much!:D Tenor05 09-24-2002, 10:18 PM I bought the T665 the day it was released and have loved it ever since. I've had a little difficulty downloading MP3's onto the memory stick, but I'm convinced that's a problem with my PC. The screen is really great and is even visable in bright sunlight (which has been a major complaint about color units). Any comppatiblity issues that I've had were from programs beamed from older Palm OS units that I solved by going home and downoading the appropriate version for OS v4.1. The whole unit is very reliable. Bottom line, the T665 is great! PDASROCK 09-25-2002, 04:29 PM Cool. Sounds like a good solid unit(clie's have good specs, are good units, I was just wondering, how easy are they to break, etc.). I've decided to wait for the new os 5 pdas come out. I'll take a look at them, but probably stick with a t665c or nr70/v, which will get really cheap right then.:D Thanks Tenor Josh 09-25-2002, 08:37 PM Hey PDASROCK The T665 is KILLER! Great screen, built in MP3 (I've had no problem, I use MSImport and just drag my MP3's to the Memory Stick from the desktop. You do have to make sure it's in the correct folder) Sound on the MP3 is excellent, battery life while listening to MP3's (with the Hold button activated, so the screen turns off) is amazing, I use it for two hours and voltage drops from 4.20 to 4.00, still plenty of charge left! The built in speaker is the best one available for any current Palm device. And all this in a thin, aluminum body that is sleek and elegant, and drops into a shirt pocket so you'll hardly know it's even there! When I had a Palm Vx, I used to think how nice it would be to have the Vx form, but with color. The T665 is that and much more! (Only PDA that compares, in my opinion, is the NR series, but, for me, the NR series is slightly too large, and too expensive) Battery life lasts me all day. You DO need to use some power management techniques, such as lowering the backlight (set it to 30%, you'll hardly notice the difference in the display, but battery life goes WAY up!)\ I've had mine for two months, and still really love it! Nothing else has tempted me since. (of course, with OS5 and a ton of new devices, I'm sure I'll be tempted) PDASROCK 09-25-2002, 10:34 PM Thanks, I appreciate the info. I was at compusa today, looking at all of the handhelds they have, I was actually looking at the pocket pc devices, if there was a palm os emulator that ran on a pocket pc, ooooh. Oh well, somethings aren't meant to be. MissingWasp 09-26-2002, 02:15 PM Erm..... i really want a 665c, but i donno where 2 get 1, ne suggestions, i got £240, but i can get from US for 217, but i woud rather get from UK, ne sugestions Tenor05 09-26-2002, 02:39 PM The only place that you might be able to find a 665c for less than $350 US Dollars would be the internet on eBay or something like that. Best Buy, for instance, carries the T665c for $399.99. I've not seen it anywhere else for less. Even Sony.com lists it for that price. You'd have better luck finding a T615 for that amount. Sorry... PDASROCK 09-26-2002, 11:00 PM Yeah, that's where I'm gonna get whatever I get. You gotta be careful, people are out there trying to rip you off, but then again, whew! You can save so much money! You could easily get a t665c(a new in box one), a 128mb stick, a nice case, and still save money. therock 10-06-2002, 02:07 PM hey josh, can u help me with some details on how u did the mp3 transfer. i've read the manual but not helping me...pls give me some details on how u did it exactly if you could...it would be greatly appreciated....take care.. therock Josh 10-06-2002, 10:05 PM You need to have a folder on your Memory Stick, called MSAUDIO. The path should be PALM/PROGRAMS/MSAUDIO If you don't have MSAUDIO folder on your Memory Stick, you can either create it via the Clie, using a file management program (such as FileCaddy or Filez) or, once your Clie is connected to your PC via MSImport, you can create it via your PC just like you'd create any other folder (directory) on your PC, just create it in the PALM/PROGRAMS folder. Now, place your T665 in the cradle, and launch MSImport. Once MSImport is launched, your Memory Stick should show up on your computer as an external drive, called (on my computer) Removable Disk (E) Double click on this drive's icon, and you'll find a folder called Palm. Double click on Palm, you'll see several folders, one of them called "PROGRAMS". Double click on it. If inside PROGRAMS you don't find a folder called MSAUDIO inside of your PROGRAMS folder, create one. Now, just drag your MP3's to this MSAUDIO folder. I've had a few MP3's have a problem, but I'd guess that over 90% of them copy to the Memory Stick and show up and play from the AudioPlayer just fine! They also sound great! Hope this helps. NickC 10-07-2002, 08:17 AM This past weekend I found the T665 for $325 in a Sunday flyer! I forget where and whether this involved a rebate, but it's still a great price! I'll try to find out where... Draven 10-07-2002, 01:05 PM It's 325 at my BestBuy! therock 10-07-2002, 05:45 PM i will try it out....this seems pretty simple...but u know how it is sometimes.....oh well...thanks a lot man....take care....i will let u knwo if it works... therock rjl 10-08-2002, 05:41 PM Thinking about buying a T665. Do a lot of traveling and use my Palm while on the road. Is using a car charger hard on the clie battery like it is on cell phone batteries? PDASROCK 10-08-2002, 06:05 PM I don't think so, T665 has a lithium ion battery, which means after the first couple charges, charging has no effect on the battery life. I you mean voltage-wise, I really don't think so. Not a noticable effect anyway. rjl 10-09-2002, 08:41 AM Thanks for the heads up on car charging. Wasn't a major issue; just trying to make a good comparison. Looks like the 665 is the best for the buck. Nesler 10-23-2002, 12:29 AM You might want to take a look at your local Good Guys as well. I normally never stop by there, but I decided to take a peek a couple of weeks ago. They were clearing out their PDAs, apparently they weren't selling very well, so they were on a fire sale. Got a t665 for $200, in the box, kid you not :D. Plus they had a lot of other pretty nice deals. Take a look. PDA Street
