After much searching, I had decided on a 395x series ipaq, but these two models have really caught my attention. I am nearly sold on a h194x ipaq, since I don't need the flash slot, and the small size is a great pro for me (the only thing that killed my interest in the 1910 was the lack of an SDI/O slot, just an SD slot - but the h194x has taken care of that). The expandability is of great appeal to me, especially with all the addons available and the flexablilty of the SD memory format, but as there is only one slot and the smaller ipaqs do not take the jackets like their bigger brothers, a problem occurs for me.

I like the idea of an SD camera, but at the same time I want to use my ipaq to port around music. What is the likelihood of an SD slot splitter, possible in the form of a jacket that would fit the h194x series? Although I am sure I would get used to it, I do not like the idea of constantly swapping cards back and forth. For this reason, I am considering paying the extra to get a 221x series ipaq. I would be prepared to sacrifice the size (which isn't too great a difference anyway I believe, and certainly much smaller than the 395x) if there are particular advantages to the 221x other than the CF slot. Any thoughts?

The 221x has a removeable battery. The cradle for this device has a slot for charging an extra battery. You could easily swap the battery on the road if the juice level becomes low. I am not quite sure if the 194x has the removeable battery or not. The 221x also has rubber grips on the sides to make it easy to hold.

The 1945 should have a removable battery.

I have the 2215 and I will say it is great. It has a faster processor 400 mhz with an improved internal bus. This means that it is much faster than the previous ipaqs with a 400 mhz processer. The 1945 will have a 266 mhz processor made by samsung, not intel.

Also, with regards price. the 2215 comes with a cradle (which if bought for the 1945 would be an additional 40 or 50 dollars).

The record button is gone, but if i recall you can map that stuff to other keys. The headphone jack on 2215 is standard size.
