Does anybody know how to discharge the battery on an iPAQ 3800. I downloaded an ACT contact plug in and since then it stays on for about 10 second and then reboots itself.
I don't know what’s more annoying the fact that I cannot use it or that it makes a stupid bell noise each time it reboots.
Your help would be greatly appreciated

Wouldn't it make more sense to remove the problem application? You can do so very quickly by going to Settings, System, Remove Programs if it was installed via *.cab or desktop setup program. Otherwise you should be able to delete the file(s) by locating the program in the Program Files, Windows, or Windows\StartUp folders.

I would do that but it reboots approx. every 10 seconds so I don't have time to remove the app.

I woke up this morning only to find that my Ipaq 4350 would not power up. I plugged it in to recharge the battery only to find it constantly in reboot mode. I can't figure out how to resolve this problem. Were you able to get your issue resolved?

Yes, I went down stairs got my claw hammer and smashed it to bits. Well that's what I felt like doing but actually there is a three button combo that you can press at the same time to complete a hardware reset, but you will loose what data is on it so I hope that you have backed up. It's been some time now, but I think that it's the front two buttons and the software reset button at the same time.

To disable the battery on the H3800 Series, please follow these guidelines:
Perform a backup of all data that is stored on the iPAQ, using ActiveSync or some other method.
Press and hold the two outer application buttons. At the same time, press the stylus into the hole on the bottom of the iPAQ for five seconds.
The screen will begin to fade indicating that the battery is being disabled. Verify that the battery is disabled by pressing the power button in the upper right hand corner of the unit.

Here is what I have done....
1. Removed the battery....
2. Performed a hard reset
3. After the hard reset, the PDA will still go into constant reboot mode. It will not power up at all without being connected to the AC so that is telling me the battery is complete discharged like this rebooting crap had been going on all night.
When plugged into the AC, the battery recharge light does not go on because of the constant rebooting. I can not get past this stage.
I know that I have probably lost everything but I would at least like to get this up and running again. The PDA worked perfect all day yesterday. I discovered this problem this morning whn I arrived in the office.

If the device is under warrenty I would contact your reseller or HP for a replacement or repair of that unit...
Good luck...
