m100 digitizer problem????

My girlfriend just bought an m100 at an auction and it seems to start up properly, but the stylus will not register anywhere near the touchpoint. I have tried a hard reset and redigitizing several times, but it doesnt help at all.:confused: has anyone had this problem with their m100?

We've experienced this problem from time to time with different PALMs. Couple things we have found to try or be aware of are...

1. Make sure your battery life doesn't go below 1.6 (this seems to cause problems with the palm remembering anything, especially if it's a battery unit, and not the rechargeable type)

2. Try a system reset rather the a hard or soft reset (not sure if it varies from model to model) but if you press on the "scroll up" button, do a reset, wait for the logo screen to appear, let go of the scroll up, digitize and then do a soft reset.

3. What software have you installed, do you lose the digitize only after putting your apps back on, if so do process of elimination or if you have hacks installed turn them off one by one and see if you can find the offender.

4. Did you drop the unit...be honest now...we have seen it happen a couple time where some one did the ol' oops and even though the unit didn't show any physical damage it just wouldn't hold it's digitizing and in some cases it's battery charge either.

The m100 is known to have digitizer (hardware) problems. Not all do--but enough do that it's a known problem.
