I use Avantgo (www.avantgo.com), the free version. Recently, I've grown tired of timeouts during the synchronization process.
I'm faced with at least three options: 1) deal with it, 2) find another web clipping service, 3) admit there's no free lunch and subscribe.
The problem is described with this example: I get to the point at which the software is "searching for updated web pages". The count goes up to about 345 out of 351 pages (always 6 short of the total). Then about 15 seconds later, the count goes to 350 of 351 (always 1 page short). Then while waiting for the last page to be found, my Palm gives up and declares that an error occured. Other times, the final page is found before the Palm gives up and all is well. Until recently, this error was only during "busy" internet times. Now it happens almost all of the time.
Does anyone know of a way I can make my Palm (Avantgo Client) software wait a longer period of time before giving up? It would be the equivalent of setting the timeout to a higher interval.
Or, does anyone recommend a better web clipping service than Avantgo?
(I tried to find an appropriate forum for this question, but couldn't. I'll gladly repost this somewhere else if there is a better place. Since I have an m505, I'll post it here)
