I am looking for a way(preferably freeware) to install files right to my card rather than have to install it onto the internal memory then move it to the card. any suggestions?

You should be able to do this right from the Palm install on the desktop. When you begin an install, there is a button below the white install box where the apps are listed that says "Change Destination." If you select this, it will install to the card.

That works with CF/MMC and Memory Sticks, but not with Handspring's Flash Springboard.
