I will pay $100.00 to anyone that helps me unlock a Treo 180 for voicestream (t-mobile) service. I have a sim card for (t-mobile) and when it is installed the Treo says "check sim card", "searching for service" and "no operators". I think this is because the previous owner had it setup or ready for a certain network(wireless provider). I need the unlock code and my phone to work and I will gladly pay the $100.00. If you have any questions post here or email sales@craytonelectronics.com.

What I learned was that it was not locked but the unit I had only ran on the 900/1800MHz networks. The US networks are 900/1900MHz. After speaking with handspring they would not tell me how to tell what model I had all they would do was send me a new one with the correct network.

Hi!
The answer from Handspring is quite strange.
I've had the same problem with my Treo 270.
The solution was to change the sim card (free of charge with my provider Swisscom), cause it was an old version (1996) and could not dialog with my Treo.
Secondly, if your Treo works on 900/1800 mhz and you have 900/1900 mhz in the US, you normally could be able to use the 900 mhz band only.
What did you finally do?

What happened is Handspring sent me a new one. They exchanged my 900/1800Mhz for a 900/1900Mhz model. I never figured out if it was fixable any other way. I do have a radio reset program for it but I dont know if that will change the frequency. I dont think it will. My insinct tells me its a hardware configuration and not just a software change. I'd like to know though if anyone knows how to change a 900/1800Mhz Treo to a 900/1900Mhz Treo.
Lawarence Icould not get a network connection on the 900Mhz network in the USA by me.
