I can't wait to see what sony does with os 5 too. I mean, look at the nr70v! Wow! Mix in os 5, with all it's added stuff, figure on sony dropping some extra what-the-hecks in there...just imagine.
I also can't wait to see aplmsw cheap os 5 pda, not that I would get one, but some of my friends just might...

Rumor has it that Sony already has something in the pipeline: the NX Series.

Yeah, seriously, all these stupid people saying "Well pocket pc is way faster, blah blah, blah...", they just don't understand" IT NEEDS TO BE FASTER or it wouldn't even be in the market! Not on a 33mhz dragonball anyway, maybe on a 200 it would be fine... palm os(or at least earlier versions) can just do that. Less size... in your pocket, less speed... the time till you gotta recharge again, less... nope, thats all ppc has on palm.

First off.. Everybody thinking that the Tungston is the right thing for palm is absolutely correct. That's a no brainer... But run right out & grab one on the day of release ? Not me.

I realy want to use Palm Inc's products.. but my experience with both their quality control & customer service have been abysmal. Sure.. the Palm Inc. models out-class 80% of the compitition ( All but the Sony's IMHO ) but remember the faulty M1xx series digitizers ? I do.. went thru three of 'em before They got it right. And the M130 with the color bit-rate thing recently.. etc, etc..

I'm going to be holding off on the Tungston until Palm Inc gets the bugs out of this one before I run wallet-in-hand to make what I'm predicting will be a $299 purchace.. If not more

That being said.. I Cant Wait untill they get it right. The Tungston is going to turn the PPC Chumps on their ears.

I hope so :) I have had no problems with palm..The customer support worked great for me on several ocasions and my palm have been really sturdy. I got mad one day and trhough my m500 over 50feet DOWN a muddy hill...Picked it up..still worked fine..not a scratch on it. my vx was sat on numerous times..dropped down three flights of stairs ect..worked fine until i sold it :)

Just curious, what kind of heavy armour protection do you use for your palms? My friend's IIIxe slipped down the edge of her bed and the glass top cracked!

Agree with schmuck that it'll be safer to wait for a couple of shipments for Palm to have time to iron out any kinks (highly possible) before getting one.

Unless you plan to be showing off the lastest gadget on launch day, just becos. ;)

I threw a handheld once.. But it was an Ipaq. That doesn't count, or does it?

lol..Well..I was in a REALLY, REALLY bad mood.. After I throught it I was like "woops!"... Thankfully is was ok..I don't use any cases on my palms. Just the leather flap that comes with one :)

the tungsten sounds great, but personally, I am obsessed with the new Sony NX-70v. That thing is SWEET!!! :D I think that no other handheld can touch it, ESPECIALLY not a ppc. only problem is the price. $600 is a little much for most people, but still, for what it can do, it's gotta be worth it.

i was going to get the Tungsten but a family member ordered me an nx-60 as a gift. they list the shipping date as the 28th, the day Palm is supposed to release the Tungsten, i wonder if that means anything.

as near as i can tell the only difference is the nx60 has no camera and probably none of the software that would be used with it. other than that it should be just the same. myself i dont mind not having the camera as i have a good digital camera already and would not be likely to use the one that comes on the nx70.

I know we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth, but the timing...

It is morally alright to trade a gift NX-60 for a Tungsten? What do you tell your relatives?
