activesync with 105 -> CE 3.0 ROM upgrade

Hi I have just upgraded my cassiopeia e-105 to CE 3.0 with a ROM upgrade. It seems to be working fine as far as an initial test goes, however when I attach it to the cradle it does not connect with my PC. I still have the original active sync that I was using with CE 2.11. What am I doing wrong. Is this a problem with the upgrade or do need to reconfigure my activesync software or do I need to order new activesync software specifically for CE 3.0. Please help as I a haven't much of a clue when it comes to these sorts of devices.

What you should use is a ActiveSynch 3.1 - the most stable version I have come across. If you were using Windows CE services it most probably won't work. Perhaps won't even recognise the device.

Since the upgrade the default device identification has changed from PalmSizePC to Pocket PC so you will have to go through the entire process of setting up a brand new partnership. Your old backups CANNOT be restored.

Delete the partnership without deleting the files. Copy all your files into a different location. Uninstall your old Synch software & reboot your PC.

Install ActiveSynch WITHOUT the device in the cradle. When it starts looking for the device place your upgraded & switched on E-115 & establish new partnership.

All should be well now.

By the way could you tell me what the CPU ID is on your device ? Is it "VR4121" or "VR4121A" ?
