I am gettting the Kyocera 6035 for Sprint (only $60 at Staples)
but I prefer to hook it up with Verizon.
Has anyone succesfully used the unlock code (such as for sale on eBay)?
Nobody at Verizon seems to know whether this is possible, being a tri-mode phone I would think it would be easy.
Do you think it is "safe" to send the phone's SN# to the "code seller" as this is what they need to get me the unlock code???
Any links or e-mail on this would be much appreciated :)

I recently bought a replacement Kyocera 6035 on e-bay because I needed one immediately. I noticed a lot of postings there about unlock codes for different carriers. There seems to be enough of that going around that there must be something to it. It's my guess you'd be safe. I also gathered that you will probably encounter people at your carrier who will tell you (incorrectly) it can't be done.

On another note: The $60 is a great price & I am crazy about my Kyocera. As is, it beats all other PDA/phone combinations in my opinion. But you may also want to keep in mind the new model (7135?) coming out this fall with a color screen, clamshell design, 16 mb of memory, slightly smaller.
