My response to the list was this:

This implies to me that they distributed a good number of these, under NDA's, to the media a month or so ago for the purposes of review with an embargo of the 15th (or maybe the 14th, for Sunday papers). This may be jus the first of many reviews that comes out in the next week from people who have been using them for a while where we thought none existed (recall, the shareholders meeting didn't even get a demo).

Hoping & praying that my iQue is shipped Tuesday and I have it to play with by the weekend!!!

Cheers,
Caleb

Thanks for the post Caleb. You have raised our expectations up once again. The review is much more positive than what I had expected from the first rev.

I'm bringing this thread back. It'd be nice if it could be made sticky.

Let's make this the official place to post any and all reviews we come across.

Yes, this link was posted at PIC, but not everyone visits both places.

There are a couple of video clips of the iQue in action posted on the GPSCity website. Hope we don't crash their server ;)

Just checked the GPSCITY.CA site. They have filled all orders up to June 28. It looks like they are really moving now! I ordered July 7th!! :D Getting excited again!

Here's another overall positive review. I'm a little surprised that the desktop software doesn't allow better trip planning.

ZDNet has given it an AVERAGE value!

ZDNet First Take

By Roger Hibbert

Getting lost just got a lot harder. Garmin has started shipping its long-awaited iQue 3600, a Palm-based organizer with an integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. Load up your maps and connect to a few satellites--you are found. We just got our hands on a review unit; read on for our initial impressions.

Upside: The benefits of the integrated GPS are obvious, but we found that the device’s maps also included useful information on banks, restaurants, and other points of interest. The Garmin is equipped with a 200MHz processor, 32MB of RAM, Palm OS 5.2.1, and a Secure Digital expansion slot. We also liked the bright, 320x480-pixel transflective display, the microphone, the integrated speaker, and the headphone jack (for listening to MP3s or turn-by-turn voice directions).

Downside: The unit’s $589 list price is a bit steep, though resellers are already asking for less. The battery is not user-replaceable, and the software and maps take a long time to install.

Outlook: We think the Garmin has a lot going for it, with relatively minor drawbacks. This looks like a great tool to appease your inner event planner and navigator, but check back with us in a week or so and read our full, in-depth review.
