I have been successfully syncing my Palm V to Outlook at home for some time now. However, I recently changed jobs and this has caused a bit of a problem...I will briefly explain it:

All my personal info is located at home in my personal folder. In my last job, I config. the mail server to send the contents of my inbox to my home PC, thus, I had my personal info, as well as my work email in my personal folder. At work, I entered no info. in my Outlook and never synced there.

I just got a new job and I set up my home Outlook, again, to get my emails sent there. However a major mess has occurred! Before, I had one set of personal folders that held all my personal info (calendar, contacts, notes, etc) PLUS my work email. Now, when I hotsynced my palm, another entire personal folder set was created and this has now become my default "Outlook Today". So, I had 2 seperate personal folder sets, yet I needed to sync one of them.

I just wanted to set everything up the way it was with my previous job...where my info would not be pulled onto their servers and backed up, and would instead allow me to have complete privacy.

So basically, when I hotsynced, i was given the option of having both synced up together, with duplicate entries disgarded, or kept. I chose to discard duplicates and in the end, both my calendars were meshed together, as well as most other subfolders.

Has anyone ever experienced this? I would really appreciate anyone's help on this. The bottom line is that I just want all my personal data and work email on my home PC and Palm. The only info in Outlook I want at work is my email and personal contacts...no calendar.

Basically, how can I set everything up to have my Palm sync with my personal folders, not my work personal folders?

Thanks in advance...if I have left out any info which you may feel is pertainent, please post and I will replay asap.

Chapura.com offers an improved version of Pocket Mirror which syncs with Outlook. The professional version allows a lot more options regarding subfolders etc. Might be worth checking out.

I had the same problem with my Palm V for ages. I recently (3 months ago) upgraded to Sony N770C and finally bit the bullet and tried to sort out this problem.

Chapura.com does upgraded pocket mirror professional which allows the palm to synch with whichever contacts/calendar/tasks folders you choose within Outlook.

From what I remember, I also had to buy their KeyContacts to allow me to to synch work contacts AND personal folders but keep them seperate.

Everything worked beautifully (at some cost) until I lost(!!!) my sony.

I have just forcibly removed my old Palm V from my wife as I can't seem to function without a Palm of some sort and can't quite justify buying another (shiny, expensive) sony just yet. Tomorrow I will see if it all works on the Palm V. Slightly concerned about memory.

I will report back.
