i use "findhack" for find function on tt - and it is just great application.
but- to do it better - i seeking the ability to launch this function from 5 Way Navigator or Voice Button - and not from appropriate "find" window - WITHOUT NEED TO SLIDE DOWN THE SLIDER.

have anybody an idea how to do this?

Go to preferences and to buttons. You will find the possibility to assign any program to any button.
Alternatively try "silkscreen" which will give You good functionality without sliding; but I am wondering a little, whether this program is worsening the known digitizer problems, so although I have bought it, I am not using it at the present time.

good luck

it is possible to launch AN APPLICATION ( = FINDHACK PREFERENCES in case of findhack) from any button by this way ("go to preferences-->buttons"), but to START A SEARCH you still need tap "find icon" (=> to slide the slider first).

i'm looking for way to start search ("find") WITHOUT NEED TO OPEN THE SLIDER.

"Button +" did not solved this problem - it replace whole launcher, i use launcher from megasoft and i don't want to replace it.

I have been using SlideFree and Grafitti Anywhere to get around the slider problem. I have programed the voice record button to have the SlideFree menu pop up if the button is pressed for a couple of seconds. I also mapped the Launcher application to the voice record button. Graffiti Anywhere activates when the Calendar button is held down for a couple of seconds. This combination of utilities has made the Tungsten T a lot easier to use.

Graffiti Anywhere is freeware, while SlideFree cost less than 10 dollars.

I am really impressed with SlideFree. All the silkscreen commands, including brightness, enabling BT, the UP Stroke shortcut that can lock and turn off your PDA, at the touch of a button.

I now have McPhling with the voice memo (hold for McPhling, quick press for voice memo) and SlideFree on the notepad (hold for SlideFree, quick for NotePad...or in my case, TealDoc). I do not have to use my slider except to do a hard reset.

BTW, I have no affiliation with any of these programs or their developers. I just really like the programs (SlideFree and McPhling), especially for under 10 bucks.

I wonder if I could remap the find button to something else then since I hardly use it to find anything :)
