I hope you can help me. I downloaded the "try" version of WavAlarms. I installed the wavalarms.prc file then copied about 5 wav files to my memory card. I decided it was not what I was looking for and used the OS delete feature to delete the program then I wanted to try to delete the 5 wav files but could not find them so I thought that if I re-installed the wavalarms.prc I might be able to locate them from there then delete them, then delete the program again but I have run into a bit of a problem.
After installing wavalarms.prc a second time my palm got hung up and the screen froze. I hit the reset button and now my palm keeps resetting, I still can't get it to do anything and it seems to be stuck in a loop. Do you have any suggestions?
I can't stop the loop!! Does anyone have any suggestions???

Looks like you need to do a hard reset.

You may want to do a "warm reset" instead. There's a soft reset, a hard reset, and a warm reset. The warm reset bypasses any start-up actions. This was created primarily for looping situations like these, in my understanding. I lost the directions for these, but they should be in the palm tech support knowledge base.
If you still can't seem to fix whatever's wrong after a warm reset, then you will have to do just what Stardust said.

Thank you both. I could not find the warm reset on the palm site after performing a search for the word warm, but the hard reset seems to have done the trick.

Check with "Big Clock", a freeware Palm OS3. It's running well on my Zire 71 and it allows to add more alarm "buzz". But I am not familliar with wav files on Palm, so I don't know how to add a wav file for Big Clock or other app.

I believe BigClock could make use of alarm sounds in midi format. If so, it seems that the logical thing to do is to convert your wav files to midi. Anyone knows a software for this? And once converted, how do you install the midi sound files so BigClock can use them?

Pardon my ignorance, but i was wondering if there was any trick to installing geeksounds -- the first time I installed it, nothing changed in my PDA. I tried all sorts of programs, checking out the usable alarms, but they were as default as they could be. Installing it a second time didn't do much either. I ended up installing 'Alarms Collection', which featured just as many midi alarms.

Fonso,
Geeksounds and the similar BugleCalls are not your usual app.
You will not see the file in the launcher although the alternative alarms will show up in any program that employs alarms from the the file titled "System MIDI Sounds." I have observed that if you install BugleCalls when you already have Geeksounds, the midi sounds from BugleCalls will overwrite the alarms belonging to the latter - and vice versa.
Unfortunately, for BigClock, you have only four sounds to choose from: custom (you can configure your own tune), system, zirp and emergency.

A footnote: the native datebook can use Geeksounds or BugleCalls. The new alarms will show up when you open the datebook's Preferences dialogue (rolldown menu under "Alarm Sound").
Hope this helps, Fonso.
