HELLO, It's any way to beam an mp3 file from a zire 71 to another zire or other palm os compatible pda.

I never tried it but i imagine so, click on the beam option the beam from sd card and select mp3 and beam, keep us posted

Even if the built-in software won't do it, a file manager (like FileZ) or a launcher with integraged file management (like ZLauncher) ought to be able to do it for you.

try myWorkbench. You can beam or send using bluetooth to any device. when receiving using myWorkbench the file goes directly to the card.

the Zire 71 one is not compatigle with bluetooth.

...as we all know, it's not possible to beam TO the card. If that were possible, then people could beam files that are bigger than the remaining RAM on their handheld.

Unless myWorkbench can allow one to do such.

Maybe Palm OS 6 will adress this issue.

EDIT: Sorry, I just verified that you can't beam non-recognized files to other PDAs. You can install "fake PDB" files via Palm Desktop Quick Install and rename them later on, but when beaming such fake files, the receiving system will ask if you wish to include this PDB file into applications. Answering yes or no will both cause the file to be deleted, (perhaps because it doesn't have a creator ID?).
