but a 1940 and a Hawking dangle. I believe it should be the same. Here is what I did to get it working:

Step 1. You need ActiveSync 3.7

Step 2. Find out which serial port your BT desktop software is "emulating" -- this is usually found under "My Device" of your BT manager for desktop.

Step 3. Enable "Serial Port" on your ActiveSync connection settings. Set the COM port to the one your BT desktop is emulating (on my computer, it is COM4)

Step 4. On your 5450, start up ActiveSync and set Options to allow BT connection.

Step 5. Using your BT manager on your 5450, let it "look" or "scan" for active connections. On my 1940, it found "ActiveSync With (your computer name).

Step 6. Double tapping on it, I got ActiveSync Connected and able to do anything. It was pretty fast.

Thanks for the advice.

I managed to get half way there, using your method..started getting upset with all the different com ports related to Bluetooth though!

Seeked a little more help and found a great website, link that guides idiots like me!

Hope others find it useful too.

Cheers min
