Got this link from Palminfocenter Forum...its the press release from Garmin announcing it's long awaited release. Shipping to dealers starts today!!! Woohooo!

Over at Palm Infocenter, someone posted this, from TVNav:

"Garmin has shipped us 5 units today. This will fill orders placed through part of 1/9. Garmin expects to ship more in the next few days. Thanks.

The big question is how many other vendors received and how long until the next shipment arrives and how many will be in them...

I got on the Amazon pre-order list April 22nd. I phoned my CC company to check on today's charges. They have a $1 authorization from Amazon from todaym but no real charge yet (a 'ping' as I call it).

I believe my order is being processed, but until there's a tracking number on the web site, I won't count on it...

Wrote Amazon e-mail asking if it was shipping and if it could be changed to overnight as I leave on a road trip tomorrow afternoon. If I can have it for then, I'll pay the extra shipping, if not, it will be a great gift for my return... 9 months without a PDA, I am dying, and more for my PDA stuff than the fun GPS part of the unit...

I think I was #6 on TVNAV's list, I ordered from him early on 1/9. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Oh, woe is me! From my vendor: Your order was entered 6/10. The few units we are suppoised to get in July will fill most of our Jan/Feb pre-orders. I would expect yours to ship mid to late August, along with about 95% of the orders.

I'll just have to wait, and read how the rest of you enjoy the unit!
