GPS on Palm M515

Hey all.

Hope someone can answer this for me.

First, can I hook up a serial DB-9 (RS232) GPS device to palm and if I can, how can I be sure that GPS software will find it?

Second, do GPS progs on palm share map formats between one another?

Third, I found this site http://www.handmap.net/ but I am not sure are these maps for all gps progs or maps for handmap gps receiver prog?
