Write to ROM

A while ago i found out how to remove seperate programs (the standard palm programs) from my ROM. since i did not use them at present and have the flash available i considered it a nice way to make some space. however, incapable to put another program in the ROM it does not seem that usefull anymore. bottomline: is there a way to put a program in the freed ROM?

yes. Use flashpro or jackflash.. either can be found here or on palmgear.com

forgot to tell: above was based on JackFlash i got as far as removing apps with it but i could not get the other way around. if you do also happen to know how to use jackflash for that purpose, please let me know. thanks anyway
in between i'll read the manual once more.

How were you able to delete programs from ROM? Where ther any consequences (other programs no longer working)? Which programs, or files did you delete?:confused:

btw: jacksprat 2.5 and SE, jackflash 2.5, jackback 1.5 are the ones i have at the moment

well, i just installed jackflash and followed the instructions. about the consequenses part: you should consider some programs may work together with the standard palm ones, if so deliting this palm app may keep the other program from running correctly or unning at all. but if for instance you do not use expense or a replacement program that needs anything from expense you can delete it without worrying. anyway jackflash makes a rom backup in case it goes wrong (you should of course not delete hotsync and th os itself, unless you have a very good reason for it (can't think of one right now)).

It sounds like you have jacksprat, not jackflash. Jackflash cannot remove programs from flash, unless it put them in there itself, wheras jacksprat can remove stuff from flash, but cannot put it into it like jackflash. I have 3.8 mb freed up with jackflash, spanish dictionary and bible and a couple other things, it rocks!
