The plug on my 3a battery holder has come detached from the plug and has shorted out, heating up and warping the plastic around the batteries. The 3a is working ok on mains, but I'm scanning eBay for a broken Series 3a to take the battery casing off and replace my broken battery case.
Are all Series 3 battery cases the same? Will a broken 3MX/3c/S3 Classic one fit my 3a? Or do I have to try and outbid someone on a broken 3a only?
This is slightly urgent as I am without my 3a and I need to get it fixed soon as poss. It is frustrating being without it.

Conkers, the battery section of a 3A is unique, and cannot be replaced with one from a 3C or 3MX. The 3A connector is at the right hand end of the circuit board, but the 3C/3MX is at the left hand end. And it is a different kind of connector. :(
However, I am sure that I have got a suitable spare 3A battery section at home in my spares box. I will need to check to be certain though. :)
Are you happy to dismantle your 3A to do the replacement, or do you want me to do it for you. I think that if you are careful and do not remove the memory battery, you should be able to remove the old section and replace it without losing your contents or settings.
Please send me a private message via the Forum, including your phone contact details. If you can post this before 4.45 pm today (when I finish work) I can check when I get home and call you tonight.

I had removed the battery pack to do a small repair which is how the plug came adrift from the battery section.
I will contact you privately
Thanks
