well my favorite doc reader doesnt work right with the nx60 (weasel) the whole page of text appears postage stamp size in the top left corner. some sorta font problem?

in spellbound the font on the tiles is shifted slightly to the left so you only see the "Q" of yhe "Qu" tile.

Shanghai has glitchy graphics right at the top of the screen.

i have alot of software still to try.

it syncs lightning fast. all in all i like it so far just gotta experiment a bit.

aldons crossing doesnt work either but i was expecting that after trying it on the os 5 simulator before.

when you click on the silk plug-in icon it brings up a box with just "standardinput". how can you add other silkscreens? do they have to be in a new format? or installed a special way? the manual says nothing about it.

ok it was really getting me interested so i called up sony to find out what the silk plug-in was all about. after 40 minutes and a couple tech people (both very nice by the way) the upshot of it is they have absolutely no idea what it is or how you are supposed to use it. "the best guess" i was given was "perhaps its an undocumented feature". they made a note of it and gave me a link to a plugin manager that they found by searching google. as if i had not tried that before i called up. i just wouldnt think sony would include an icon on thier launcher bar to launch third party software. anyone have any ideas?

Hey,
Well, I can't help you with your i-con question. But, I'm looking at buying the new Palm Tungsten, or the new Sony NX-60. I saw a post from someone in Singapore who already has a NX, and he stated that it needed to be charged everyday. Sony claims 10 days. What have you encountered? And any other advice to what you think about the newe Sony's would be great! I think you said you had the NX-60. thanks......Todd

If I work with my NX70v, I can allmost watch the battery level to go down. If I use the camera, or video function it goes even faster. The 10 days Sony was talking about most be 10 days without using it. So I bought the extra battery case for on the road.

well you could get 10 days if you used it for maybe 30 min a day. i know with my typical use i will probably use it 4 hours a day and slap it on the charger every night. this is no problem for me as before i was using a IIIc and this was basically what i did with it too. other than battery life i like the machine a lot. the screen is beautifull. im not used to everying looking so sharp and clear:D

i hear a lot of people say that they are bricks but it is not that way for me. it fits well in my hand, feels sturdier than an nr70 and has a rougher texture that gives you a little more secure feel holding it. closed it doesnt seem much longer than my IIIc. and not much heavier. i have not bothered to compare actual size specs as that would mean nothing to me anyway. my hands are simply huge. your hands may vary.

i love the multimedia features. many might be old news to nr70 users but its quite a change for a IIIc user. its got great sound and its a treat playing mp3's but i might be biased coming from using a crappy piezo speaker (more like beep maker) before. i have had a lot of fun with the flash player snatching some pretty fun games and small little flash movies when i find them (try Golden Gate Drop if you see it,lotsa fun chucking water balloons at people and cars off the top of the golden gate bridge (use low res setting for better speed)). movies look great on it as well though i have only tried a couple small ones to test it out.

as for software:
many things work, some do not. this is not all a sony problem or an os 5 one just some software needs to be updated.(i got the same results for aldons crossing on the nx60 as i did on the os 5 simulator). pretty soon though most developers will make fixes to thier software im sure so im not sweating it much and i can still do what i want with it. if you have a question about an app or game in particular and i have it let me know what it is and i will let you know if it works or you can just use the os 5 simulator to test it yourself.

just ask if you have any other questions.

Well, I went to a local Best But today expecting to see either the Sony or the new Palm, and of course nothing. I played around with the Nrv70? My question is, I could not get a full screen minus the graffiti area unless I was doing the picture slide show. I even got the Genius behind the counter to give me a manual on it. I had allready figured out the small blue arrow pointing down to remove the grafitti area, but it only worked on the slide show. But I can't remember if I tried that with the keyboard in both open and closed positions. If that makes a difference. And also, I took my Prism with me to beam some games to the Sony to compare graghics, and could not get the Sony to Receive anything.
Anyway, today was the first time I actually got the Sony out. And It's not much longer than my Prism, and about the same thickness, or thinner. And I do like the feel of the size. I'm looking at Purchasing the Sony or the Palm before Christmas, if Best buy has a good sale. Of course I will be trading that ol' Prism on my Great Best Buy service agreement. I actually started with the Visor Platinum. Thanks again. :D

The graffitti area has the option to be put away, but it is only availible on some things. Like you said it works on the pic veiwer. It also works on programs that support hires like quick office, kinoma movie vewier, and many launching programs allow you to keep it away all the time. I use SilverScreen and I never have the graffitti area there.
