I had a Sony NR70 for about 1 1/2 weeks during that time I loaded it with mp3's of my fav. music adding and erasing tracks. I found using the supplied headphones the sound quality was good but the bass needed a little kick, so I tried new bassier headphones( Sony ). Only to be disapointed with the limp weak highs, the bass only was slightly improved. So I tried a different model ( also Sony ) with the same results, I ended up using the headphone that came with it. They are the best sounding I've found yet,

Question?
Has anyone had a simular concerns.
And did you find a good set of headphones??

I never use the supplied headphones for anything I buy. They are always cheap and are always uncomfortable and have no bass. I have found that Koss makes great headphones that are very comfortable and have great bass. I have the Koss sporta pros which can be traditions style(over the head) or street style(behind the neck) just buy folding them. They also fold up very small and like I said before the bass is great.

I noticed a big difference with the Bass on the NX model since it has 3 added Bass settings as compared to the NR.

Are you saying that the headphones supplied with it sound better now due to the increase in bass output or is it due to the 3 added bass curve mapping choices. Did Sony up the volume output? Some of my mp3's had a lower audio level than others depending how the original track or CD was recorded to mp3. In many cases I needed to turn it up and ran out of vol. I can hardly wait for my unit to be shipped so I can do some research myself.

I believe the output is much nicer with the new bass levels.

Even nicer is the fact that you can control the volume now with the job dial without opening the unit.

Lots of practical usage improvements that won't make the spec sheets.
