Ok, so being able to put movies on my clie is cool, and being able to record movies is even cooler. The problem is: how in the world do I get my recorded movies -off- of the clie and into a useable format in Windows XP? I can find all kinds of info on how to convert them to put them on, but not to take them off. Like I said, recording movies is nice and all, but now I want to email them to people who don't necessarily also have an NX70V. If anyone has any insights into this, I'd love to hear it. Thanks a bunch.

You can't. Well, at least not yet. There is currently no conversion from the NX to the PC. I think it is very idiotic that it is this way, but I guess Sony wasn't thinking ahead.... :( I'm sure that some smart program developer will write a program to convert from the NX to the PC, but for now, we will have to wait.

Yup, you can. Verify that you have the latest update of Quicktime on your desktop (click 'Help' 'Update' within Quicktime to ensure) then simply rename the movies to the .MOV extension after copying them to the desktop.... that's it! Cool eh?

Cheers,
Rich

p.s. Why not register the .MQV extension on your desktop for Quicktime, then you don't have to rename....

Quicktime 6.0 has the proper codec and if you preform updates through the help bar it will not install 6.0

Ok, thanks guys. That actually worked. I just have to remember to tell people to open it with quicktime now.

Quicktime v5.5 came with the clie but sony forgot one thing...their codec doesn't work with that version so the rumor is that sony paid Quicktime 10 million just to add their file in their system and if you purchase quicktime pro you can gonvert the mqv to a universal mpg format.

If you have any other questions you may e-mail me at bryan@blueskywire.com and i would be glad to assist you
