I have a wireless network running IEEE 802.11a.
I am just wondering whether the sony wirless card will work with my current network since it is running under IEEE 802.11b. Or do I need to buy another wireless network card for it to work??
Your help would be much appreciated.:)

All the routers and access points I have seen only support one type of wireless standard.
IEEE 802.11b is not compatible with IEEE 802.11a. They transmit at different frequencies.
Since the Sony WL100 CF Wireless LAN card only supports the IEEE 802.11b standard you would need a wireless router or WAP that also supports 802.11b.

I purchased the wireless card with my NX, but am having trouble getting it to connect to my network. I have a Linksys wireless hub (802.11b), which works great with my laptop, but the NX times out trying to get to servers through the NetFront browser. The wireless connection appears to be successful, but when I enter a web address, it says the server isn't found. I double checked the DNS and gateway entries, and everything appears correct. Anyone else have trouble getting a connection? For the record, I have a 192.168.1.x network at home connected to ATT/BI (the old @Home in the Seattle area).

Thanks!
