new to using PDA's WHAT IS HOTSYNC?

HEY guys ....you guys been really helpful. but i have questions hehe

what is hotsync? i never owned a pda before..so theres alot of terms you guys are using or programs im not familiar with. if someone would be kinda enough to explain what that feature is used for and what is its advantages for using it.
