Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Remove problems of PsiWin2.3 for 2.3.3
My office PC syncs fine with my Outloook and Contacts, deleting superflous stuff between the two, yet the sync is always unsucessful on my home PC. I tried removing 2.3 and reinstalling it but can't due to an error message via the Control Panel add/remove programs saying something like 'psconsv.exe in use' ...... I'm in Catch 22 - how do I get out of this one???
whoops. title should read 'remove problems OF PsiWin...

If psconsv.exe were still in use, you'd probably find that the system tray icon (the thing that wiggles when you make a connection) is there. Try right-clicking on it and choose "Close" or "Exit" to shut down psconsv.exe.
Or you can hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and end the application from there...
dooglad is right - you need to shut down these four processes in Task Manager (assuming NT/2K/XP on your PC):
Psconsv.exe
elogerr.exe
wprntsvr.exe
copyany.exe
Only the first (and maybe the second) will be running if you haven't connected to your a Psion since booting the PC.
Before you install a new copy of Psiwin, you must run the registry cleaner .inf file. You can get this from my site, at the URL below.
Thanks for the info last month re clearing files pre loading PsiWin 2.3.3. Deleted wprntsvr.exe and copyany without a hitch but with Psconsv.exe and elogerr.exe give a 'Cannot delete: specified file used in by Windows'.......... what do I do?
Thanks
Igor

with Psconsv.exe and elogerr.exe give a 'Cannot delete: specified file used in by Windows'.......... what do I do? Remove the PsiWin connection server's shortcut so that it doesn't launch when the PC is booted. Then reboot and delete PsiWin. The shortcut is in:
C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\
PDA Street
