Hi,

I have an NX60 CLIE with the Sony 802.11B CF card. My wireless LAN is based on a Linksys router - BEFW11S4 Ver 2. I have several PCs connecting to the wireless network with no problems.

However, with the NX60, I can connect to the wireless LAN (and to the internet) only when I set the wireless router to disable encryption. When I enable encryption the CLIE fails to connect - I get an "Initializing" then "Connecting" screen prompt then it goes to "Retrying" eventually timing out with nothing.

DHCP in my router is ON
Testing 1 meter from the router
Set power saving to OFF in CLIE
Infrastructure Mode
SSID matches

Everything works fine when WEP is disabled, but when WEP is enabled it cannot connect - 64bit as well as 128bit.

By the way, the CLIE is insistent on receiving all 5/13 passphrase characters... My linksys router was contect with less than this, so I changed my router passphrase to 13 characters (in 128bit mode). Still the CLIE will not connect.

Any idea, anyone out there?

tnx!

in order to get my pda online i had to disable DHCP (use static addresses .. it helps increase security as well..)

I have 128bit Enc with an asante router and a linksys wireless access point. (i disabled dhcp on the router)

Sorry for responding late, I was travelling. I'll try disabling the DHCP and set static IP addresses.

However, this is a rather lopsided solution. as it means I'll need to manually change the DNS addresses etc. in all my PCs when my ISP changes them... or when I change ISP.

tnx,
